Dissecting First Nations Characters On-Screen

Join Tuuli Narkle (Mystery Road Origin), Hunter Page-Lochard (Reckless) and emerging filmmaker Siena Stubbs for a powerful and forward-looking conversation about representation, storytelling, and the future of screen culture. In this panel, we explore the importance of not only telling significant and culturally specific First Nations stories, but also ensuring First Nations characters are part of everyday, universal narratives across all genres. From drama to comedy, sci-fi to romance, our panellists will share their experiences, discuss the impact of inclusive casting, and reflect on what it means to be seen on screen in roles that go beyond expectation or stereotype. This is a vital discussion about authenticity, opportunity, and building a screen industry where First Nations talent is embedded in every kind of story.
