As a young Yolŋu woman, Siena Stubbs has grown up in the community of Yirrkala surrounded by her family and culture. Her love for learning and sharing knowledge guides her between both worlds; Yolŋu and Ŋapaki.

In 2023, Siena graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Film). Looking to share the beauty of her culture, Siena gratefully participated in Screen Australia’s 2025 Proper Loved Up Romantic Comedy short film initiative, looking to develop her story, Best On Ground. Siena is now working towards delivering a third draft script, with the opportunity to apply for up to $80,000 in production funding to bring their short films to life, decided in August 2025. 

Daily, Siena hopes to represent her Yolŋu family and home, wherever she finds herself, through the creative lens of story-telling and film, and dreams of one day winning an academy award.
