Ben Steel
Screen Well - Director & Founder Ben is passionate about improving wellbeing for the screen sector, and he has spent the last eight years speaking to arts & entertainment industry leaders and experts in mental health about the wellbeing challenges and solutions creative practitioners experience, an exploration which culminated in him making the acclaimed ABC documentary The Show Must Go On released during mental health week 2019.
In 2022, Ben founded Screen Well - an emerging social enterprise established to deliver a range of best practice industry specific resources, initiatives, and workshops that are designed to help improve mental health outcomes for the Australian screen industry. Ben is an accredited Mental Health First Aid instructor who brings this training with his knowledge and 30+ years of work experience in the screen sector, alongside his personal lived experience with anxiety & depression to the Screen Well team.
