Screenworks and AACTA Present a Live Read of Boomerang

Enjoy a live script reading of Boomerang, winner of the AACTA Pitch: Regional Landscapes development program, narrated by Charlie Clausen. This special event offers a rare insight into the craft of screenwriting, as the story is lifted from the page and its characters find their voice in front of an audience. After a plane crash leaves a city-raised Indigenous boy lost in the Australian desert, he must team up with an unlikely companion and learn to listen to the land in order to find his way home. From creators Nathin Art Butler and Jonathon Saunders, this live reading provides an early look at a feature film project as it begins to take shape. Boomerang was developed via the AACTA Pitch: Regional Landscapes initiative, in partnership with Screenworks, which supports regionally based creatives to develop feature films inspired by the distinctive stories and landscapes of regional Australia. Boomerang has received development support from Screen Queensland and ScreenNT. Cast to be announced.
