In The Thick Of It - Shorts Momentum to Feature Launch

Join filmmakers Nick and Nathan Lacey for an unfiltered, practical roadmap on how successful short films can translate into momentum for a first feature in Australia. Drawing from their experience writing, directing and producing acclaimed shorts, the Laceys break down what “shorts success” actually means in the marketplace and how to turn festival heat, awards, and audience response into real leverage with financiers, agencies, development partners and screen bodies. Off the back of their winning feature film pitch for their anticipated feature length debut with Shark Bait at this year's 37 degrees South at MIFF, this session tracks the journey from proof-of-concept to package, unpacking the decisions that matter: building a repeatable creative process, establishing a voice through shorts that translates into feature-ready vision and building a project that draws interest in the market.
