Sarah Beard
Sarah has over 30 years’ experience as a documentary producer in film and television production, with unique sensibilities about production and storytelling, both above and under water. A multi-skilled professional with a solid track record of delivering highly successful projects to diverse national and international stakeholders. Sarah’s passion is making films for Impact, especially around ocean conservation, and her recent projects include the award-winning ocean conservation film Blue and an IMAX film about the critical status of the Australian sea lion, Sea Lions -- Life By A Whisker. Sarah recently series produced a National Geographic/Disney+ show, Secrets of the Octopus, narrated by Paul Rudd with EP James Cameron.
Sarah has recently returned to the IMAX medium, producing several films, again with strong ocean conservation themes. In addition to her film work, Sarah served a two-year tenure on the marine plastic pollution charity Take 3 for the Sea, board, as a director and then went onto be the organisations CEO in 2020 and 2021. She is also holding a board position on the Conflict Islands Conversation Initiative for the past four years and is the Founder, CEO and Chair of The Australian Sea Lion Recovery Foundation.
