Megan Norris

Megan Norris is an award-winning investigative journalist and author of seven books that shine a light on some of Australia’s most infamous crimes. Her first book, Perfect Victim, co-authored with author, Elizabeth Southall, is now a movie (In Her Skin) starring Sam Neill, Miranda Otto, and Guy Pearce. 

 

Her acclaimed DV exploration of revenge killings of children during marital breakdown,  Look What You Made Me Do, won best non-fiction in the 2017 Davitt Award’s presented by Australian Sisters in Crime. In 2023 she won the award again for Out of the Ashes, which chronicles the extraordinary journey of Bali bomb survivor Therese Fox. Out of the Ashes was also shortlisted by the Australian Crime Writers’ Association in the prestigious Ned Kelly Awards for best non-fiction 2023.

 

Megan’s stories have graced the front covers of Good Weekend, Australian Women’s Weekly and Marie Claire as well as the UK Mail on Sunday and Das Bild.

 

She has been a guest on 60 Minutes, Foxtel’s Crimes That Shook Australia, Seven’s Sunday Night with Derryn Hinch, and The Project. Look What You Made Me Do has also been run over six episodes on Mama Mia’s True Crime Podcast while On Father’s Day, her book on the infamous Robert Farquharson murders of his children, recently aired on Meshel Laurie’s True Crime Australia podcast and on UK TV’s True Crime Extra show.

 

The Queensland convenor of Sisters in Crime, Megan’s long-standing work with the survivors of violent crime earned her last year’s Queensland Homicide Victims’ Support Network’s Mitchell Ferrario Award for Compassion in Media Award. Megan lives on the Gold Coast with her husband, Steve, their grandson, Nathan, and their dog, Larry.
