Jessica Magro
Jessica Magro is a proud Samoan-Maltese-Australian Producer, Director and founder of independent production company Purple Carrot Entertainment, best known for producing the award winning Pasifika-Australian series Bad Ancestors and the internationally acclaimed animated series Bluey. After five years working with Veronica Fury at WildBear Entertainment, Jessica began producing and directing her own projects, including FEZ for ABC Arts, The Alexander Ball for SBS and Bad Ancestors for the ABC which won the 2025 SPA Award for Best Online Series Production of the Year and was nominated for an AACTA award in the same year. Previously Jessica was selected as a Screen Producer’s Ones to Watch producer, receiving the prestigious SPA internship with Liliana Munoz at Maximo Entertainment in 2021, named a ‘2023 Rising Talent’ by IF Magazine and received Enterprise support from Screen Australia to undertake a mentorship with Grant Torre at Stampede Ventures, working on Anderson Paak’s directorial debut feature film KPOPS. Currently Jessica continues to produce the global publishing program for Bluey while developing a diverse slate at Purple Carrot Entertainment, including the feature film adaptation of Michelle Bourke’s viral story Cardboard Paul, and DIVA, a comedy-drama series following the life of a queer, Samoan professional wrestler.
