Jemma Burns

Having music supervised over 130 productions, Jemma regularly works with internationally renowned companies such as Ari Aster’s Squarepeg (Beau is Afraid), See-Saw Films (Apple Cider Vinegar, Lion,Top of the Lake: China Girl) and Plan B Entertainment (Bong Joon Ho’s Okja, multiple David Michod films). She has also been responsible for the soundtracks of key Netflix productions, winning Best Soundtrack for ‘Heartbreak High’ at the 2025 AACTAs.

With a great ear for emotional tonality of music, Jemma loves working closely with directors to craft their soundtracks, finding the most compelling way to tell their story through the use of score, licensed music or commissioned songs. She loves deep diving into the cultural context of songs and pairing the right composer with the right director, knowing how pivotal the dynamic of that relationship is.

She is thrilled to be working on productions including Liz Doran’s adaptation of Australian literary classic ‘My Brilliant Career’ and Jen Peedom’s scripted feature debut ‘Tenzig’, written by Luke Davies. And she cannot wait for the release of ‘The Drama’ (A24); Kristoffer Borgli’s highly anticipated black comedy starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.
