Chika Ikogwe

Chika Ikogwe is an award-winning Nigerian born Actor and Writer.
As an Actor, Chika has worked extensively in the industry and can be seen in the Emmy and AACTA-award winning television series Heartbreak High on Netflix (which has further earnt her an Equity Awards nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series), Stan's Sunny Nights, ABC's Mikki vs the World, and feature film Land of Bad alongside Russell Crowe. She can also be seen in Binge series Mix Tape alongside Teresa Palmer and Jacqueline Mckenzie, which won the Audience Award in the TV Spotlight Thread at SxSW 2025. Chika also works regularly as a voiceover artist.


On stage, Chika played the lead role of Cleo in the highly acclaimed sold out seasons of Seven Methods of Killing Kylie Jenner (dir. Shari Sebbens & Zindzi Okenyo); a role for which she won Most Outstanding Performer at the 2024 Green Room Awards. She also performed in Fangirls (dir. Paige Rattray), Dance Nation (dir. Imara Savage) & The Wolves (dir. Jessica Arthur). She made her Melbourne Theatre Company debut playing Adaego in Deborah Frances-White's Never Have I Ever (Dir. Tasnim Hossain), and later worked on their Cybec Electric series for 2025.


As a writer, Chika has written for Stan, the ABC, the short film Dog Eats World and has a number of original upcoming works in development, including TV series Just Chidi Things, which will be executive produced by Rose Byrne, Joy, the Musical! in collaboration with Mischief Media & Every Cloud Productions, and Ogechi's Salon in collaboration with Beyond Entertainment. She has also written and performed original poems commissioned by Red Room Poetry, and in 2025 was invited to perform for a filmed reading of the Stella shortlisted Black Convicts by Stella Chigaipe.
Chika was the recipient of the 2018 BBM Youth Support Award in Drama, the 2018 Leslie Walford AM Award, winner of Best Newcomer at the Sydney Theatre Awards in 2019, recipient of the 2020 ATYP Rose Byrne Emerging Female Leader in the Arts scholarship and recipient of 2022 The Glorias Award.


In the voiceover world, she featured in the role of Laney Turner in The Cruise for Audible. She is also the voice of multiple brands including such as Medibank, ANZ, Powercorp, Smith's, and Headspace.


She has a deep passion for equity and representation, and strives to bring authentic Afrocentric stories to the forefront of Australian stages and screens.
