Charles Williams is an acclaimed Australian film director, writer and producer; winner of more than 60 international awards, including Cannes Film Festival's Short Film Palme d'Or. His films have screened at more than 200 of the world's most prestigious festivals, including Cannes and TIFF. They have also sold globally, including to the Criterion Collection.
Williams' debut feature film, INSIDE, starring Guy Pearce, Cosmo Jarvis, Vincent Miller, Tammy Macintosh and Toby Wallace, was theatrically released in Australia and the US in 2025 to critical acclaim. His script won both the State Library of NSW Betty Roland Prize and the 2025 Australian Writers’ Guild Award for Best Original Screenplay. He is an alumnus of TIFF’s Filmmaker Lab, the Golden Globes HFPA Filmmaker Residency and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences®. He is also the founder of production company Simpatico Films.
