Lisa O’Meara is CEO of Screenworks and a passionate advocate for regional voices on Australian screens. Over more than 15 years with the organisation—first as Programs and Operations Manager and now as CEO—she has led the development and delivery of initiatives that support story and project development and have helped launch the careers and projects of hundreds of regional screenwriters and creatives.
Working closely with some of the industry’s most respected writers and story developers, Lisa has overseen flagship programs including _Writing for TV Intensive _and the screenwriters’ career progression initiative Inside the Writers Room. Under her leadership, Screenworks’ partnership with AACTA delivers AACTA Pitch: Regional Landscapes, giving emerging Australian creatives the opportunity to develop feature films inspired by the distinctive stories and landscapes of regional Australia.
