Kim McConnie
Kim McConnie is Group Executive Marketing at Tourism and Events Queensland, where she leads the state’s global brand, campaign and content strategy – and is the first woman permanently appointed to the role. She’s spearheading a fresh, competitive new era for Queensland, driving bold, integrated marketing that turns “I’d love to go one day” into booked holidays.
A marketing leader with more than 25 years’ experience across tourism, events and sport, Kim is known for bringing big‑stage thinking. At PepsiCo, she ran global sports sponsorships and the Super Bowl half‑time show from 2014–2018, working with artists including Katy Perry, Coldplay and Lady Gaga. She later helped turn the BBL and WBBL into must‑see family entertainment as General Manager of the Big Bash Leagues, and, as Marketing Director at Kayo Sports, helped grow the platform to nearly 1.5 million subscribers.
