Joel Jackson
Joel Jackson is a Minang Noongar storyteller. A Logie and AACTA award winner for Peter Allen; Not the Boy Next Door, other credits include Deadline Gallipoli, International Emmy winner Safe Harbour and Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries. Joel’s feature credits include I Met A Girl, H is for Happiness, Jungle opposite Daniel Radcliffe, 2024 Adelaide Festival closing night film Kangaroo Island, and current 2025 nominees for Best Feature and Best Independent Feature, Runt and Just A Farmer.
Joel was recently awarded WA’s Best Supporting Actor in the 2024-2023 seasons of Barracking for the Umpire.
As writer/producer, Joel’s short story Tell Me How it Ends was shortlisted amongst the Top 50 Best Australian Yarns for 2024 and his short film Stranger (actor, co-writer and producer) has won multiple short film awards internationally, screening at Flickerfest and the St Kilda Film Festival.
Inspired by his 45 day long, 12,000km motorbike ride across Western Australia for charity in 2021, Joel is currently developing an international adventure travel series On the Wind, a six part outback heist TV series, Mounds and his first children’s book, Captain Tub.
Joel is also an ambassador for CinefestOz, Australian Children’s Music Foundation, Zero2Hero and Telethon.
