Damien Stewart
Former Police Officer | Psychologist | PTSD Specialist
After two decades serving as an Australian police officer, Damien traded his badge for a new mission — helping those who protect and serve. Now a practising psychologist, he specialises in supporting current and former police and military personnel dealing with the psychological impact of frontline work, including trauma, depression, anxiety and PTSD. Damien also has experience dealing with the rise of radicalisation and increase in violence we’re seeing in Australia from Sovereign Citizens and domestic terrorists.
His unique insight — forged on both sides of the frontline — gives him a deep understanding of what it takes to carry the weight of other people’s crises. As Convenor of the Australian Psychological Society’s Military and Emergency Services Interest Group, Damien continues to advocate for mental health awareness and change within the services that serve us all.
